  [Pharmacological Action]

  Sulfonamide antibacterial drug. Sulfamonomethoxine inhibits the synthesis of dihydrofolate by competing with dihydrofolate synthase; trimethoprim inhibits dihydrofolate reductase, preventing dihydrofolate from being reduced to tetrahydrofolate.

  The combination of sulfadimethoxine and trimethoprim can double block the metabolism of folic acid and produce a synergistic antibacterial effect.

  Sulfadimethoxine is well absorbed after oral administration, with high blood concentration and low acetylation rate. The acetylated product has high solubility in urine and is not easy to form urine.
