Indication:
It is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used in veterinary medicine to treat bacterial infections in various animals. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of respiratory diseases, including bovine respiratory disease (BRD) in cattle, swine respiratory disease (SRD) in pigs, and respiratory infections in horses. Additionally, it is used to treat foot rot and acute metritis in cattle, as well as urinary tract infections in dogs. The efficacy of Ceftiofur Hydrochloride against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria makes it a valuable treatment option for these infections, promoting faster recovery and reducing the spread of disease within animal populations.
Dosage and administration:
For Calves,Cattle , Goats and Sheep:
Dosage: 1.0 to 2.0 mg/kg body weight (0.5 to 1.0 mL per 50 kg body weight).
Administration: Administer once daily by intramuscular (IM) or subcutaneous (SC) injection.
For Swine:
Dosage: 3.0 mg/kg body weight (1.5 mL per 50 kg body weight).
Administration: Administer once daily by intramuscular (IM) injection.
For Horses:
Dosage: 1.0 to 2.0 mg/kg body weight (0.5 to 1.0 mL per 50 kg body weight).
Administration: Administer once daily by intramuscular (IM) injection.
For Dogs:
Dosage: 2.2 mg/kg body weight (1.0 mL per 45 kg body weight).
Administration: Administer once daily by subcutaneous (SC) injection.
Precautions:
1.Shake well before use. Not suitable for freezing.
2.It is primarily excreted via the kidneys; reduce dosage for animals with renal insufficiency.
3.Rotate injection sites to prevent irritation or tissue damage. Avoid injecting into edematous or inflamed areas.
4.Ensure accurate dosing based on the animal's weight. Overdosing or underdosing can lead to treatment failure or adverse effects.
5.Store it in a cool, dry place away from light and out of reach of children and animals.
